The days in Houston are still far too warm for my liking this late in October, but the mornings and evenings are absolutely lovely – nice, crisp breezes with beautiful skies, and just cool enough to finally break out my favorite coated denim. I love how these pants can elevate the simplest of outfits – the timeless t-shirt and jean duo brought up a notch. I could have been wearing tennis shoes with this ensemble as opposed to the pumps and still feel put together (which I did in fact do to make grocery shopping a little more comfortable post photo shoot).

And yes, those are holiday decorations in that 4th photo, already adorning the store roofs in Highland Village – really?! Apparently Halloween just doesn’t matter anymore?

I hope everyone has a spooky Halloween, filled with lots of candy! Enjoy it this week while you can, because apparently Christmas has already started.

It seems my adoration for apparel with simple French phrases is just not going to go away. I thought I was done after the Bien sweat shirt and the Eiffel Tour tank, but when I found this muscle tank with one of my favorite French vocabulary words (on sale, no less!) all existing items no longer mattered. In my defense though, this is a rather practical purchase – it can be styled in endless ways and will comfortably get me through yet another wicked summer in the Houston heat. Plus, my beloved blogging partner in crime is the one person that would never judge me for owning too many French inspired clothing items 🙂

Do you have any particular fashion statements that you can’t get enough of?

And is it really May already?! Not that I am disheartened by this fact – I have many exciting trips to look forward to in May and June and am very happy it is here. But seriously, did April even exist?

Soooo, it’s been a while since we have posted. Between traveling, visitors, weekend commitments… we are some busy girls! But it feels good to be back 🙂

This outfit is what I like to call my “uniform”. Ever since I bought these jeans a couple months ago, I rarely reach for anything else for low key nights/weekends. And I typically style them just like this. I may switch out the tank for a tee, and the flat sandals for heeled sandals, but other than that what you see is what you get. I find myself being drawn more and more to minimalistic styling that is effortless yet purposeful, that can be messy and trendy or clean and chic. Perhaps it’s my newish hair, perhaps it’s the weather, perhaps it’s my lack of interest in purchasing fast fashion as of late. Whatever it is, I think it is here to stay for some time!

The Heights recently updated it’s pedestrian walkway along Heights Blvd with some interesting sculptures, and I couldn’t help but use a couple of my favorites for some outfit shots! Fun, right?

Is there anything better than a favorite pair of jeans? Well yes, I suppose there are plenty of better things… but they are pretty high up there, no?

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend filled with treats! I happen to be impatiently waiting for Monday, when all of the Cadbury Eggs go on sale.
