Soooo, it’s been a while since we have posted. Between traveling, visitors, weekend commitments… we are some busy girls! But it feels good to be back 🙂

This outfit is what I like to call my “uniform”. Ever since I bought these jeans a couple months ago, I rarely reach for anything else for low key nights/weekends. And I typically style them just like this. I may switch out the tank for a tee, and the flat sandals for heeled sandals, but other than that what you see is what you get. I find myself being drawn more and more to minimalistic styling that is effortless yet purposeful, that can be messy and trendy or clean and chic. Perhaps it’s my newish hair, perhaps it’s the weather, perhaps it’s my lack of interest in purchasing fast fashion as of late. Whatever it is, I think it is here to stay for some time!

The Heights recently updated it’s pedestrian walkway along Heights Blvd with some interesting sculptures, and I couldn’t help but use a couple of my favorites for some outfit shots! Fun, right?

Is there anything better than a favorite pair of jeans? Well yes, I suppose there are plenty of better things… but they are pretty high up there, no?

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend filled with treats! I happen to be impatiently waiting for Monday, when all of the Cadbury Eggs go on sale.

Do The Locomotion

This past weekend was so nice and relaxing – a Saturday morning workout followed by watching Jerry Maguire (which, I am ashamed to admit, I had never watched the whole way through), a movie with friends, dinner out, girl time on Sunday… just what I needed to bring some zen into my attitude to prepare for the craziness of the following weeks! I wanted a comfy yet cute outfit that matched my weekend vibe, so I chose this cotton skirt and oversized tee. I wore this all weekend. Seriously, both Saturday and Sunday (please tell me I’m not the only one who does that). I actually found this tee on the clearance rack at the Gap in the men’s section and it happens to be one my best purchases. It has been well worn, and there is a small hole that has started that I am currently choosing to ignore because I will be devastated when I have to retire this to a bedtime tee.

To my fiance’s excitement, we lucked out during this photo shoot with a train in the background. Every time we use these train tracks he is always so bummed when a train doesn’t come because he has been wanting to use the blur as a background. We will have to practice a bit more, but this was a good first run!

I hope everyone’s week is going well!

Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop

I can’t stop my crop top craze! Per my last outfit post, I decided to invest in another version from American Apparel, this one not quite as form fitting. I love American Apparel for their tees – so affordable and they always last and rarely go out of style. Obviously the crop top will have its run, but I feel I will be able to get away with this simplistic version for a long time. I love the sense of ease it provides paired with a breezy maxi skirt. Also, everyone should check out Purse and Clutch, which is where I got this blue bag from – they sell gorgeous hand bags that are handmade by artisans in developing countries – create opportunity!

I officially have less than two months until my wedding… WTF! We’ve been able to take care of a lot of things the past couple of weeks, and hopefully some more this weekend, and my people in Michigan have been so helpful – but I can’t shake this anxious feeling. Sometimes it’s good anxious, and sometimes it’s bad (not bad like I don’t want to get married, but bad like what if my dress alterations go wrong). Either way it’s physically impossible for me to give my undivided attention to anything else, I am just WAY too excited. I wonder if pre-wedding anxiety is a condition that makes me eligible for medical marijuana – perhaps I should look into that 🙂 Kidding! But seriously…
