I received some images from our wedding photographer last week so I thought I would share some of my favorites today! As most of you already know, our wedding was up in Michigan where Kyle and I grew up. I had been set on a fall wedding for some time so that we could take advantage of the fall colors. We somehow ended up with the most beautiful day, which was perfect since our ceremony was outside. I was fully prepared to be cold for 20 or 30 min, but it was honestly the perfect weather, everyone was comfortable. Here’s to you, Mother Nature!
Our wedding took place at a Girl Scout camp tucked back in the woods. The camp has a wonderful wooden lodge that we used for the reception. I love that we used this camp because it was a clean palate – we were able to create the exact style we were going for. I will admit it takes more work than just using a venue that has a lot of things already set for you, or a set list of things to choose from, but it was so worth it. I can’t give enough praises to our vendors – the food, the drinks, the flowers, the pictures, the music, the camp – best crew of people! And of course our parents, family and the wedding party… thank you all for making this the best day ever 🙂 And I can’t forget to give credit to my incredibly handsome husband, he’s the best.
When I was searching for the dress I had a few things in mind. I knew I wanted something timeless with a dramatic back, and a birdcage veil to create just a touch of that old Hollywood vibe. This was the last dress I tried on during a day full of appointments, and when I walked out of the dressing room nobody said a word. That’s sort of how I knew this was the one. The way the material drapes and the ivory color… I didn’t know I could feel this good in a gown. I’m so ridiculously in love with this look – like Karrin said in her wedding post, it is very likely that this is the most put together I will ever feel in my entire life.

Hope you all are having a lovely week!
