Wet Hot American Summer

Most of you Style Sound readers out there are most likely from the lovely Midwest, where summer means lakes, boats, patios, and comfortable evenings. For us Houston folks, it means Hell. As in the temperature of Hell. For me, June marks the season of sweltering heat, sticky humidity, and not being able to breathe when I get into my car. For days like this I turn to loose, airy cottons, like this oversized tank from a HMBSMS show, and a straw hat to help control my hair-do. Jazz it up with some funky accessories, and you’ve got an effortless rocker chic ensemble that is ready to take on the heat.

This particular day was spent taking our recycling back to a park in downtown, followed by some strolling. For being the third largest city in the country, Houston’s downtown is actually pretty small – the city is the epitome of urban sprawl. But there are a handful of good spots downtown, and Discovery Green park is one of them. This park is constantly improving – there’s an event of sorts almost every weekend, some great vendors, and lots of little areas to just hang out and people watch.

Hope everyone is enjoying the first days of summer! And for anyone living in Texas that might be reading, I hope you are surviving 🙂

  1. Love the look Haley! I’ll have to try something similar for Lolla!

  2. You look fab! What a great tank and hat, you always look so put together no matter what you wear, my love!

  3. Caroline says:
